ABOUT

Caitlin Robb is a contemporary artist with a practice rooted in research and exploring topics such as the natural world, anatomy, spirituality, and social issues. She is particularly interested in rituals surrounding different aspects of life - including death - and showing reverence toward other creatures.

The nature of her practice is interdisciplinary. Caitlin uses a mixture of ceramics, printmaking, analogue photography, drawing, and poetry. Each process has unique attributes that suit particular ideas, however, they are all connected by their ritualistic and repetitive nature, and the time and patience required. The nature of these processes allows her to be reverential and intimately involved in the making and exploration of ideas.

Caitlin’s practice is motivated by her empathy and reverence for the natural world. Research serves as a key element of her work, whether through reading books or engaging in conversations with the individuals she photographs. By enriching her art with this exploration, she hopes to inspire viewers to reflect on meaningful topics.

The environment is deeply valued by Caitlin as an individual and as an artist. Recently, within her practice, she has grown interested in delving into connecting to the land by using natural materials, such as wild clay and wood-firing. She is also inquisitive about using more ancestral methodologies, slowness, and working three-dimensionally.

Caitlin is based in Aberdeen, Scotland. For business inquiries, feel free to contact her below:
